A comment/crit on the technical side of things:Your lineweight is too thick. In some, the lineweight that's holding together the drawing reaches in to parts that may be popping out. That forces you to thicken the lines everywhere else, and in the end you have extremely thick lines.Craft is better here then your later sketches that you posted.As of now, the insects that you're referencing are the same in silhouette as your drawings. Is that what you're going for? If I dropped black ink on your details and only let the detail speak, they would mostly look like beetles. If that's what you're going for, awesome. If you're using them as inspiration, i'd suggest you squint your eyes and think in silhouettes first, rather then silhouette + details.
